Aspiring entrepreneurs in Pike County will have an opportunity to develop business skills and explore funding resources when a small business training program begins Sept. 22 through a partnership between the Community Action Committee of Pike County and the Ohio State University Small Business Development Center.
The Workforce & Business Development Program is intended for people who are considering starting a business as well as those preparing to launch an existing idea, according to a community announcement.
The program will cover business planning, marketing, financial projections, funding opportunities and other topics designed to help participants build a foundation for a new venture.
According to the announcement, the class will provide guidance and practical tools for entrepreneurs working to move a business concept toward launch.
Space in the program is limited and registration is required. The registration deadline is Sept. 18.
Eligible participants may qualify for financial support during the program, including stipends for attending classes and milestone-based incentives. Those incentives may include assistance with business planning, startup expenses or certain lending-related costs, according to the announcement.
