Boone County Distilling Co. has been named one of the nation's top 10 small businesses worth traveling to this summer by The Points Guy and Capital One Business, highlighting the Northern Kentucky bourbon destination for visitors from across the country.
The designation places Boone County Distilling among a select group of U.S. small businesses featured by the national travel outlet, according to a community announcement.

The distillery traces its heritage to Petersburg, Kentucky, and markets its bourbon as "Made by Ghosts," a reference to its roots dating to 1833. It is an official stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Northern Kentucky's The B-Line.
Visitors to the distillery can also purchase limited-edition America 250 releases of Founder's Reserve and Single Barrel Founder's Reserve. According to the announcement, the bottles commemorate the history and spirit of American independence and are available for a limited time.
Boone County Distilling is located near Independence, just off Interstate 75 and about 15 miles south of Cincinnati. It offers guided tours, tasting experiences and a gift shop featuring a range of spirits. Products include small-batch bourbons, single-barrel selections, bourbon cream and rye whiskey.
The rye whiskey recipe comes from Larry Ebersold, a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame.
The Points Guy cited the distillery's focus on handcrafted bourbon production, according to the announcement. Boone County Distilling ages its bourbon for more than five years and sources ingredients from Kentucky and Indiana.
