Swiss payment service provider Payrexx has partnered with Newland Payment Technology (Newland NPT) to introduce a branded portfolio of payment terminals for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Payrexx previously offered payment terminals through third-party providers, according to a Newland NPT statement.

Under the partnership, Payrexx is launching "its first fully branded terminal proposition", the statement added.

Newland NPT said the new range is designed to create a "more consistent merchant experience" across hardware, software, onboarding and support. It also gives Payrexx greater control over branding and customisation.

Alan Moss, Newland NPT Europe general manager, said: "Payrexx had a clear vision for how it wanted merchants to experience its brand, from the moment a terminal arrives through to daily payment acceptance.

"Our role has been to provide the technology, flexibility and support needed to bring that vision to life."

Payrexx was founded in Thun in 2015 and provides SMEs with a single account to accept and manage payments. The platform supports ecommerce payments, payment links, donation forms, QR payments and in-store acceptance.

The terminal rollout will start with the Newland N910 Pro, an Android SmartPOS device positioned as an entry-level model. The range will be eventually extended with additional customised devices, including the N950K and N950, to cover different merchant requirements, sectors and price points.

The terminals support Visa, Mastercard and Swiss payment method TWINT.

The devices will be supplied pre-configured to reduce setup time. The range also includes SIM-based mobile connectivity options, enabling payment acceptance where mobile coverage is available.

Payrexx is also adopting Newland NPT's Terminal Operations Management System (TOMS) to manage and support terminals remotely. The system allows terminals to be deployed with limited configuration, diagnosed remotely and updated centrally.

Payrexx Growth & Strategic Projects head Aimé Ndayisaba said: "Working with Newland NPT has enabled us to launch a terminal portfolio that reflects the Payrexx brand and delivers the simple, ready-to-use experience our merchants expect."

For Newland NPT, the agreement adds to its work with payment providers developing branded terminal offerings. The company reports more than 100 million devices deployed globally and operations across more than 120 countries and regions.

Recently, Newland NPT partnered with enterprise data security provider Futurex to deliver a hosted remote key injection (RKI) service for payment terminals across North America.

"Payrexx selects Newland NPT for first branded payment terminal range" was originally created and published by Electronic Payments International, a GlobalData owned brand.
