SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — We started off the weekend on a very warm and humid note with a few showers and storms. Today turns out to be the best day of the weekend to get outside. Find out below…
The cold front that passed through Central New York first thing this morning is the leading edge of a new air mass that we are feeling out there to round out the weekend and is making it feel comfier.
While temperatures could be a bit lower than Saturday, we think the most noticeable change for most is the lower humidity today.
To go along with this refreshing change will be a good deal of sunshine, although the sun may be a bit filtered thanks to returning wildfire smoke high up in the atmosphere, which is not expected to affect the air quality thankfully.
While Monday will be far from a total washout, we will be on the lookout again for a few showers and storms to start the week. So don't go canceling your outdoor plans, but keep an eye to the sky and an umbrella nearby on Monday.
Mainly dry with more sun temporarily arrives for the middle of the week for Tuesday and Wednesday, which could allow for a nice view of the partial solar eclipse here in CNY.
Unfortunately, our chances to see the peak of the Perseid meteor shower may not be too good due to more clouds than not and a higher chance for a few more showers late Wednesday night into Thursday. Peak of the Perseid meteor shower is late Wednesday night. Stay tuned for updates.
