SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse may have missed the heavy downpours Tuesday, but there is more wet weather headed our way for the middle of the week. How much rain could we see? Find out below…
Showers and pockets of steady rain overspread our area, pinwheeling in around the nearly stalled area of low pressure just east of Central New York on Wednesday. The rain could be heavy at times, and some thunder is possible too.
It's breezy and even a touch cooler and still muggy with highs only in the upper 60s to low 70s for most.
Additional rainfall Wednesday should be on the order of a quarter inch to three quarters of an inch for most spots, with some locally higher amounts possible with any downpours that develop.
At this point, it looks like the threat for flooding is low.
Temperatures remain in the 70s as we head through the middle of the week as we expect plenty of clouds to be around around through Thursday.
With dew points well into the 60s, however, it should still feel quite muggy over the next several days even with those highs in the 70s.
Although our wettest days of the week likely end up being Tuesday and Wednesday, there are still some lingering showers around Thursday.
Any rain on Thursday would be scattered, and there may even be a few glimpses of sun breaking through the clouds at times.
Thankfully, we do gradually dry out and brighten the sky back up toward the end of the week with some sun returning by Friday afternoon. Highs should get back into the 80s by Friday, too. More importantly, it is a drier day and that dry weather lasts into Saturday.
