GREENBUSH – Handmade goods from Wisconsin artisans and crafters will take center stage during Wade House's annual Arts & Crafts Fair on Aug. 30 in Greenbush.
The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the historic Wade House grounds, according to a community announcement. Visitors can shop from dozens of artists and craftspeople while also exploring the site's historic attractions for a discounted admission price of $6 per person.
"Wade House's annual Arts & Crafts Fair is a wonderful way to combine a historic excursion with a shopping experience," Wade House Site Director Bridgitt Zielke said. "At a deeply discounted admission rate, guests can explore the site's historic attractions, meet artisans and craftspeople, and get a head start on their holiday shopping list."
Shoppers will find a variety of handcrafted items, including pottery, jewelry, woodworking projects, glass jewelry, fall floral wreaths and wooden keepsakes.
The event also will feature food vendors, including the John Michael Kohler Art Center's Culinary Art Car, along with live entertainment.
Guests attending the fair can explore several of Wade House's historic offerings.
The site includes the 27-room Wade House Stagecoach Inn, an 1850s Greek Revival structure, as well as the Dockstader Blacksmith Shop and the water-powered Herrling Sawmill.
Visitors also can take a horse-drawn wagon ride to the Visitor Center to tour the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum, which houses Wisconsin's largest collection of carriages and wagons, according to the announcement. Additional shopping opportunities will be available in the museum gift shop.
The Arts & Crafts Fair will be held rain or shine at Wade House, W7824 Center Road, Greenbush.
Admission is $6 per person, reduced from the regular $15 admission for adults and teens. Children younger than 5 are admitted free.
Event organizers recommend entering the property near the Wade House Stagecoach Inn. Guests may also enter through the Visitor Center on State 23, though organizers say that entrance is not recommended.
