An employee at a Lancaster County daycare has been arrested and charged.
Deborah Garrison, 71, is accused of cruelty to children after an incident involving a one-year-old boy.
Investigators said Garrison failed to give a child necessary medical attention after he fell inside the Buford Child Development Center.
Garrison turned herself in on Thursday and was charged with cruelty to children.
The incident happened in late April. A warrant says she was assigned to the child at the daycare.
The toddler slipped, fell, and broke his femur.
The boy lay on the floor for nearly 15 minutes, crying after the fall, but the suspect deprived him of medical treatment even though he was in severe pain, according to a warrant.
The boy's mom told Channel 9's Tina Terry that her son spent five weeks in a cast.
"I was very upset," said parent Payton Ellis. "It's heartbreaking to know you send kids to daycare to have them be cared, nurtured, protected, and they failed on their end."
Her son had a similar injury at the same facility just a few months earlier, Ellis said.
Terry emailed and called the daycare. She also stopped by, but there has been no response from them.
