A 21-year-old West Seneca man was found dead early Saturday after being reported missing while swimming at Buffalo Harbor State Park, according to New York State Police.

New York State Police's Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted New York State Park Police and the Buffalo Police Department with the missing swimmer report shortly after midnight Aug. 8.

Investigators determined that Kenyan S. Potter, 21, of West Seneca, had been swimming in the outer harbor at the state park when he was reported missing.

Multiple agencies joined the search, including New York State Park Police, Buffalo police, Buffalo Fire Department and the Erie County Sheriff's Office.

Potter was located deceased by the Buffalo Police Department Marine Unit and Underwater Recovery Team.

The Erie County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene, and an autopsy is scheduled.

New York State Police's Unmanned Aircraft System, the New York State Park Police, Erie County Sheriff's Office Air 1, Buffalo police and the Buffalo Fire Department assisted with the investigation.
