Ten people were injured in a camping stove accident at a festival in southern Germany, police said on Saturday.
A 26-year-old man was using the stove on the campsite of the Taubertal music festival just outside the town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, when gas escaped, presumably due to incorrect handling of the device, police said.
Ten people aged 21 to 26 were injured by the ensuing deflagration - a combustion process where the flames proceed slower than the speed of sound.
Eight of the injured have been hospitalized, Rothenburg police said.
The Taubertal festival, which marks its 30-year anniversary this year, is expecting to draw up to 15,000 visitors this weekend.
