A power outage on Aug. 8 in Cuyahoga Falls led to the temporary closure of the natatorium and other downtown agencies.
The Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium announced on social media at 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 8 that it would be closed for the remainder of the day due to the loss of electricity.
The 116,000-square-foot health and fitness center at 2345 Fourth St. had been relying on back-up generators for electricity earlier in the day. It plans to reopen at 11 a.m. on Aug. 9.
The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center at 2131 Front St. also canceled its Aug. 8 classes, exhibitions and events due to the loss of electricity, according to a social media post. It is expected to reopen during its business hours on Aug. 10.
The Cuyahoga Falls Library at 2015 Third St. delayed opening its doors until 1 p.m. Aug. 8 due to the outage. It plans to reschedule its Mr. Jeff concert that had to be canceled.
Officials with city of Cuyahoga Falls' electric department could not be reached on Aug. 8.
