For the first time since 2020, Rehoboth Beach has a new mayor: former Commissioner Susan Stewart.
Additionally, Commissioners Patrick Gossett and Mark Saunders retained their seats.
There were 624 votes in the Aug. 8 election, as well as 474 absentee votes, a city news release said.
Here are the unofficial results of the election, according to the release.
Stewart is an attorney and a financial adviser, as well as a former member of the U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team.
She told The News Journal/Delaware Online her top three priorities for Rehoboth Beach are managed growth, stormwater and infrastructure solutions and commercial revitalization.

Gossett is a five-time Rehoboth Beach commissioner, retired from a career in hotels and then museums.
Gossett told The News Journal/Delaware Online his priorities for Rehoboth Beach are building a master plan, updating the city code and wastewater and stormwater management, as well as the Clear Space Theatre project.
Saunders was appointed as a commissioner in 2024. He told The News Journal/Delaware Online some of his top priorities for Rehoboth Beach are the two pending boardwalk hotel projects, the Clear Space Theatre project and storm and wastewater management.

Stewart, Gossett and Saunders will be sworn in at a Sept. 18 commissioners meeting.
