Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center brought together more than 200 administrators for its Fall Administrative Conference on Aug. 4, offering legal updates, professional development sessions and a keynote presentation focused on leadership and resilience.
The event drew participants from school districts across the region, according to a community announcement. Activities began at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center with legal and legislative updates followed by breakout sessions on leadership, student services, instructional coaching, gifted education and career and workforce development.
Conference organizers said the sessions were designed to provide practical strategies that administrators can apply in their districts as the new school year begins.
The conference concluded with a keynote address from Damon West at the Ohio State Reformatory.
West shared a message centered on resilience, accountability and intentional leadership. His presentation highlighted his journey from serving a life sentence in prison to achieving personal transformation.
According to the announcement, West encouraged attendees to overcome challenges, foster positive change and lead with purpose, character and impact.
The gathering marked the start of the 2026-27 school year for many participating districts and provided opportunities for networking, collaboration and professional learning among administrators.
Mid-Ohio ESC has already scheduled its next Fall Administrative Conference for Aug. 3, 2027.
