Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis on Sunday claimed to have attacked a refinery of the Saudi oil giant Aramco as tensions escalate between the militia and the oil-wealthy monarchy.
The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said the drone attack on the facility, located in Jazan in south-western Saudi Arabia, was a "precise hit."
He added in a statement that the attack was in response to the "Saudi enemy's violation" of the airspace over the Yemeni provinces of Saada and Hajjah with drones.
Earlier on Sunday, the Saudi Ministry of Energy said firefighting teams extinguished a blaze that had broken out at dawn at a facility of an Aramco refinery in Jazan, without resulting in casualties.
The ministry did not provide details about the cause of the fire in its brief statement.
Tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, which backs the internationally recognized Yemeni government, have escalated in recent weeks, with Saudi airstrikes targeting the Houthi-controlled capital Sana'a.
The Houthis, for their part, have attacked several Saudi vessels or forced them to change course after announcing a naval blockade in the Red Sea against Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this week, a Saudi-led military coalition said that 11 civilians were injured in Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia's southern Najran region.
The Houthis have also launched a series of attacks against the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces over the past days.
