Delaware State University will welcome back its students after a record-smashing 2025, and it's a great time to be a Hornet.

The second-largest university in Delaware set a new record for enrollment in 2025 with more than 6,600 students, a 30% spike in enrollment since 2020. The university also cracked a Forbes list of Top 10 public Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Here's what to know about DSU starting a new school year.

The move-in dates range from Aug. 19 through Aug. 22, and vary by year and residence hall. According to Delaware State's website, the dates are:

Wednesday, August 19: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.: Jenkins, Warren Franklin East/West,Gooding, Williams, Malmberg Freshmen Only, Carpenter

Thursday, August 20: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.: Evers, Tubman-Laws Floors 1–3, Wynder Towers, University Village Building 1, Zimmerman

Friday, August 21: 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.: Tubman-Laws Floors 4–5, University Village Building 3, University Courtyard Buildings 1, 3, 7, and Building 6 High Side

Saturday, August 22: 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. (Enrollment Management only available from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. for clearance): Malmberg Upperclassmen, University Village Building 2, University Courtyard Buildings 2, 4, 5, and Building 6 Low Side 

Commuters and students not living on campus who are either new or have enrollment obligations to satisfy may have to report to campus on Aug. 19.

Fall semester classes begin on Aug. 25 and run through Dec. 3.
