MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A 12th grader was shot and killed outside an apartment in Robinsonville, Mississippi.
The victim was identified by Tunica County authorities as Justin Davis, 18, a student at Lake Cormorant High School.
Deputies responded at 2:30 a.m. to a shooting call at the Lakeside Vintage Apartments on Harrah's Parkway South.
A vehicle fled the scene, and deputies chased it until the driver got out and ran. The vehicle was seized and a firearm was found inside.
Davis was found hours later, around 2:15 Sunday afternoon, when police returned to the apartments for another call regarding the shooting.
Davis was found lying in a wooded area with multiple gunshot wounds. He was unresponsive and was declared dead by the county coroner.
Authorities did not say that anyone had been taken into custody.
