A woman was captured on video cursing and kicking another driver's car after a fender bender in west Charlotte over the weekend.

It happened Friday night near the Interstate 85 ramp on Brookshire Boulevard. The victim took a video during the incident, and she spoke with Channel 9's Hannah Goetz about what happened.

The victim, Elizabeth Rodriguez, said she gave up concert tickets for the next night in Charlotte because she was too afraid to come back after being attacked. She is hoping this story helps police find the person involved.

Rodriguez says she never thought this is how her Friday night would end after spending the evening in Uptown Charlotte.

"I was so scared. I was so scared," Rodriguez said.

Elizabeth and her husband watched Charlotte FC win at Bank of America Stadium and were on their way back to their home to Cherryville when the night took a turn.

She says they were rear-ended on Brookshire Boulevard near the I-85 South ramp.

"She hit my car, and then she pulled like in front of us," Rodriguez said.

Elizabeth says the red car kept driving. When they caught up with it in the flow of traffic to take a picture of the plates, things turned violent.

"Without warning, she gets out of her car, and she approaches our vehicle and commences to start beating on the windows," Rodriguez said.

We blurred the woman in this video -- because no one has been charged yet. In it, you can hear Rodriguez on the phone with 911.

"Thankfully, my door was locked, and she couldn't get in. So, and like I said, when she went to her car, you know, I didn't know if she was going to get a weapon," Rodriguez told Channel 9.

She says the woman took off, leaving the car covered in dents and the couple terrified.

"[We] want to have her apprehended; someone who is that unstable does not need to be, you know, able to just walk away from this and never meet any type of consequences," Rodriguez said.

She said police arrived shortly after but the driver was already taking off.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told Goetz on Monday that there is no update on arrests, but this is an active and ongoing investigation.

Experts with the defensive driving school say if you're a target of road rage, remember these three things:

Stay inside your car with the doors locked.

Avoid responding to gestures or shouting.

Do not drive home if you're being followed.
