ARNOLD, Mo. - A man accused of shooting at a group of three people in Arnold over the weekend is now behind bars on felony charges.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has charged Nicholas B. Fenstermaker, 21, of Arnold, Missouri, with three counts of first-degree assault and armed criminal action in connection with the incident.
Investigators say a "heated verbal argument" escalated between Fenstermaker and three individuals that ended with him allegedly firing shots from his car. No one was injured.
The charges stem from a disturbance involving gunfire on Sunday in the 1400 block of Scenic Drive.
According to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office probable cause statement, Fenstermaker got involved in a verbal altercation with all three victims, then briefly left the scene. He reportedly returned to the scene moments later and fired shots from his vehicle after one individual said he had already contacted law enforcement.

One victim told authorities, she heard Fenstermaker scream, "This ain't over [five-letter expletive]" just before he fired three shots in the direction of the group. Fenstermaker drove away a short time later, per the probable cause statement.
While investigating, authorities discovered shell casings at the scene, identified the suspect vehicle through evidence and obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, leading them to Fenstermaker.
During the search warrant, investigators located a spent shell casing inside the vehicle,
along with multiple firearms and ammunition consistent with the shell casings recovered from the scene.
Fenstermaker was taken into custody on Monday. He is being held at the Jefferson County
Jail without bond.
