We dodged the severe thunderstorms that dropped just south and west of our region Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday still feature isolated thunderstorm chances, but we're not looking at anything as severe as what Monday brought to the DMV.

We'll have mainly cloudy skies to start Wednesday (with some patchy fog possible). Into the afternoon, we'll see partly sunny skies before a pop-up thunderstorm into the afternoon and evening with the daytime heating of the day. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Thursday is a very similar setup with isolated thunderstorms and highs into the upper 80s.

Friday, we'll have a cold front swinging through bringing scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder. Behind this front, get ready for lower humidity, plenty of sunshine and highs into the lower 80s on Saturday, which will make it the pick of the weekend and the entire 7-day, too. Sunday brings back some humidity along with some isolated thunderstorms.
