A man has been charged with homicide and strangulation amid an investigation in Bristol Borough, Bucks County.

Charges were filed against Michael Myers Thursday after a person was killed following what authorities are describing as a "serious domestic incident."

The charges come hours after Myers was detained and questioned by police.

Detectives responded Thursday morning to a home on the 1300 block of Wood Street, near Taylor Street.

Officials have released few details about the incident.

Only Action News was there as Myers was seen being escorted out of Bristol Borough Police Department and into a police vehicle while shackled in handcuffs.

Investigators spent the day canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing residents as they worked to determine what happened. Video showed a white vehicle being towed from the scene.

Families living near the home said they were concerned as they awaited more information from authorities.

Some neighbors reported seeing an ambulance arrive around 7 a.m. before police closed off the street.

With crime scene investigators processing the property, residents said they were shocked to see such a large law enforcement presence at the home.

"It's just a very sad situation," neighbor Karen Samsel said. "Prayers and thoughts are with them because they are a good family."

Authorities have not identified the person who died.

Myers has also been charged with aggravated assault, as well as false imprisonment.

He was denied bail and is being held at the Buck County Jail.
