An on-duty California Highway Patrol officer and the driver of a pick-up truck crashed head-on late Aug. 15 near Bardsdale.
The collision was reported around 11 p.m. on Grimes Canyon Road and sent three people to the hospital, said CHP Officer Ryan Ayers, a spokesman for the Moorpark CHP station.
Ayers said the officer was headed southbound while the truck driver, a 34-year-old Santa Paula man, was headed north when the crash happened.
The CHP officer and a passenger in the truck, a 40-year-old Chatsworth woman, suffered broken bones in the crash, and the truck driver was injured with lacerations. All three people in the crash were wearing their seatbelts, according to Ayers.
The CHP officer, the truck driver and his passenger were transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Ayers said.
The truck driver was later arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony DUI causing bodily injury, Ayers said. The driver was booked into Ventura County jail, the CHP spokesman said.
Grimes Canyon Road was closed for about three hours for the investigation and subsequent clean-up, Ayers said.
The crash is still under investigation.
