Two people were killed in a shooting early Sunday morning outside a 24-hour convenience store and gas station in Millville.

Police are still searching for the person responsible.

Balloons and candles were placed outside the store in the 800 block of North High Street in memory of Ashley Brown and Andy Brazil, both 32. Loved ones identified the victims through Facebook photos.

Millville police responded to reports of shots fired in the store's parking lot and found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both died from their injuries.

Brown's family said the victims were inside a vehicle when the shooting occurred, with Brown in the driver's seat.

Friends and family gathered at the scene as they mourned the loss.

"They said Ashley got killed. I said, 'What do you mean Ashley?' I dropped my phone, dropped everything and came down here," said Shakiera Nichols, a close friend of Brown.

Others who knew Brown remembered her fondly.

"She was fun and very nice," said 7-year-old Jahyon Thomas, Brown's godson.

Authorities have not released information about a possible motive and have not announced any suspects. Multiple businesses in the area have surveillance cameras.

Community members said they hope an arrest is made soon.

"Those were people I knew for a long time and people that I actually liked. I feel so bad for her and him," said Jah'Zhyrah Money of Millville.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to contact the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office. Detective Emilio Santiago can be reached at 856-506-4093.
