The White House will host a meeting with executives from cryptocurrency and prediction market companies on Aug. 19, Politico reported on Aug. 13.

President Donald Trump and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Mike Selig will make remarks at the meeting, Semafor reported on Aug. 15.

Executives from crypto firms Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN), a16z, Ripple, and Chainlink will attend the White House meeting, per Semafor. Popular prediction market Kalshi and its backer Paradigm will also send executives to the meeting.

The meeting will take place at 2:30 PM ET today as the Clarity Act failed to make any progress this season.

Ahead of Trump's White House meeting with crypto executives, a mysterious trader bought 5,000 Ethereum (ETH) worth $9.53 million to stake it, the onchain analysis platform Lookonchain revealed on Aug. 17.

A crypto trader's wallet address remains public, but their name rarely becomes public. That is why such a crypto trader is also called a "mysterious trader" whose identity remains anonymous.

With a market capitalization of $232.82 million, Ether is the world's second-largest cryptocurrency. Staking is the process of locking up 32 ETH to help secure the blockchain network, verify transactions, and earn passive rewards.

As per Lookonchain, the said trader has bought a total of 10,657 ETH worth $20.07 million.

As per Decibel, Ether was trading at $1,931.60 at the time of writing, up 1.8% in the last 24 hours.
