Germany's hospitality sector lost further business in the first half of the year, with revenue adjusted for price falling by an annual 5.2%, the Federal Statistical Office said on Thursday in a provisional report.
However, due to implemented price increases, nominal revenue rose by 2.1%.
Compared with May, revenue adjusted for price fell by 1.2% in June.
Restaurants and pubs suffered significantly more losses than hotels and other accommodation providers amid the general consumer slump.
In restaurants and pubs, revenue adjusted for price was 5.7% lower in the first half of the year than in the comparison period.
For hotels, the loss was 3.2%.
