Sheriff's officials have released the identity of a 61-year-old man who was found slain at a Victorville bus stop on Tuesday.

Frank Harold Wright died shortly after he was found unconscious by a passerby just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, along the 14600 block of Valley Center Drive, south of La Paz Drive, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Gloria Orejel said. Officials described him as transient.

Deputies responded after a pedestrian noticed Wright "unresponsive" at a bus stop, she said. Despite medical aid, Wright died at the scene.

Investigators found the victim's body displayed "traumatic injuries," sheriff's officials said in a written statement. The type of injuries Wright suffered, as well as his cause of death, were not disclosed.

The killer remained at large. No description was available.
