An 18-year-old man was arrested after a bank robbery in Butler Township on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the Fifth/Third Bank Branch located at 8028 North Dixie Drive shortly before 9:30 a.m. on reports of a robbery, according to a social media post from the Butler Township Police Department.

The suspect, identfied as 18-year-old Whitman David Stein of Sidney, entered the bank and presented a note to tellers indicating he had a gun, and instructed them to empty their cash drawers.

Bank Tellers were able to sound a silent alarm while Stein was still inside the bank, according to police.

Stein fled the bank and was apprehended on his motorcycle moments later by deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Stein is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on an initial charge of Robbery By Force/Threat of Force, according to jail records.

The case remains under investigation by the Butler Township Police Department and will be presented to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office for their review.
