HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- An Evansville man has been arrested after police say he was driving twice the speed limit while drunk.

According to an affidavit, officers were patrolling Highway 41 between Diamond and Lynch Road around 9:30 p.m. on Friday when they spotted a truck going 90 mph in a truck. The speed limit in that area is 45 mph.

Officials say the driver was identified as Ethan Ryan Goodman, 23. They say he continued to speed as he turned onto Lynch Road. Officers say they pulled him over and placed him into custody for reckless driving.

Officers say Goodman claimed he just finished cutting grass, despite it being 9:30 p.m. Police say he had slow, slurred speech and red watery eyes.

EPD conducted field sobriety tests with Goodman and say he blew a .183 on a breath test at the jail. After the tests, police say Goodman admitted to drinking at a friend's house earlier in the night.

While searching his truck, police say they found two empty bottles of alcohol and an empty can. Goodman was convicted in a separate DUI case in June.

Goodman was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
