New carnival rides, improved guest infrastructure and a special show for the nation's 250th birthday highlight new happenings at the 2026 Oregon State Fair.
The fair begins Aug. 28 and runs through Sept. 7 at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. A plethora of musical acts is slated to take over the Pavilion, including All-Time Low and "Weird" Al Yankovich.
This, year the fair features the world premiere of "America 250 Live," which runs at 5:30 p.m. every evening with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sept. 7, fair organizers said. The hour-long show features stories and stunts honoring the United States' 250th anniversary. Admission to the show is free with fair entry.
The fair also features new rides from Rainier Amusements Midway. The lineup this year includes four new attractions, two of which are geared toward children. There will also be a premium ride this year called The Medusa, requiring an extra $10 ticket to go on.
This year also features 17 new water refill stations guests can find across the fairgrounds and a new public address system. These upgrades were funded by a grant from the Oregon Department of Administrative Services.
"We are so thankful for the generous funding provided by DAS," Kim Grewe-Powell, CEO of the Oregon Expo Center, said. "These essential, much-needed infrastructure upgrades directly enhance the comfort, health and overall experience of every fairgoer who walks through our gates."
The fair also has the old favorites, including animal exhibits, the Artisan Village and vendors.
Tickets to the fair are $8 for children, $10 for adults and $25 for an 11-day pass. The fair also features a $25 one-day family pass good for two adults and two children.
Some attractions and events may also require other tickets for entry. Kids 5 and younger get in free. The fair opens each day at 10 a.m., with carnival rides beginning at 11 a.m.
