DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- Decatur Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday.
The police department said officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 600 block of Jasper Street -- near the Johns Hill Park -- shortly after 6:30 p.m.

According to the department, police found a person who had been shot. As of Sunday evening, it is unclear what kind of condition they are in and if anyone has been arrested in connection to the shooting.
Community members are asked to avoid the area as police investigate.
