PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — New video shows the moments police arrest multiple men, accused of human trafficking, in a quiet Sandy neighborhood late last week.
On July 24, the Sandy Police Department conducted a Human Trafficking Disruption Mission, or a sting.
During the operation, detectives and officers from multiple law enforcement agencies across the Portland Metro Area arrested and criminally cited sex buyers, arrested two suspected traffickers, and provided resources to the alleged victims.
SPD arrested a total of eight people during this investigation.
Suspected Commercial Sex Buyers
• Samuel Sabin, 52, of Vancouver, Washington
• Joshua Cuppy, 48, of Brush Prairie, Washington (also lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on an outstanding warrant)
• Joshua Haelman, 32, of Battle Ground, Washington (also cited for Possession of Cocaine)
• Abraham Garcia Hernandez, 41, of Portland, Oregon
• Ross North, 38, of Brush Prairie, Washington
• Christian Cruz Molina, 19, of Portland, Oregon
• John Harris II, 31, of Portland, Oregon
• Rolland Finney, 43, of Portland, Oregon
Sandy Police also rescued victims of trafficking during the sting, offering them on-site resources through providers like Safety Compass. It's a local group that offers free and confidential services for trafficking survivors.
According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, in 2024, 368 people called the hotline from Oregon; 119 of those signals were victims of human trafficking. Most of the victims involved were part of sex trafficking, and some were involved in forced labor, or both.

Officials are still investigating those accused of these heinous crimes; anyone with information regarding these individuals is encouraged to contact Sandy police.
Two of the suspects' first court appearances are set for Monday afternoon.
