Yung Filly, a UK-based YouTube performer and rapper, was found not guilty of rape but guilty of the assault of a woman in a Perth hotel room in 2024, the Associated Press reported.

Barrientos, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, wept when the verdicts were read out at the District Court of Western Australia. He is 30 years old.

He had pleaded not guilty to six rape charges, three charges of assault causing bodily harm and one charge of choking from the September 28, 2024, incident in a Perth hotel room. He was found not guilty of the choking charge and several rape charges.

Two counts of assault causing bodily harm were established against him as he bit the woman on her neck and breast. The prosecutors showed pictures of bruises and bite marks, the AP reported.

Jurors failed to reach a verdict on three other rape counts, which means that a possible retrial will take place. Sentencing and the undecided charges will be addressed on August 21. Barrientos is free on bail.

The woman, who is now 20 years old, cannot be named under Australian law.

The eight-day trial included different accounts of what occurred that night. Prosecutors say that the woman gave consent but decided to withdraw it because she felt unsafe.

According to Prosecutor Danielle Clarke, Barrientos is an entitled man who has already gained some popularity and went ahead despite attempts to make him stop.

Barrientos testified on his own behalf, claiming that he never slapped or choked the woman and she never told him she was in pain. He admitted to biting her, but said that this was done with her consent and called it a "love bite" in England.

He claimed that the security guard took away the woman's mobile phone before entering the hotel room, but denied that this was done to trap her, as the need to protect privacy was the norm for celebrities.

At the time of the trial, Barrientos toured around Australia and gave concerts in Sydney and Melbourne before the Perth performance. He was arrested a couple of days later in Brisbane, the last point of the tour.

Born in Cali, Colombia, and raised in southeast London, Barrientos became popular through the YouTube group Beta Squad and has over 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube. In 2021, he won a MOBO Award for the best media personality and presented programs for BBC Three.

Barrientos has been out on bail ever since he faced the charges. He has also been allowed to return to the UK for several months. In December 2024, while out on bail, he pleaded guilty to reckless driving after speeding on a Perth highway.
