Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed to 12News that Alex Barnett, who was the subject of a Blue Alert, is in custody as of Monday evening.

Barnett and Santiago Jorge Rogers were identified as suspects in the murder of Carlos Ramirez, a recruit for the Tucson Police Department, on Aug. 19. Ramirez's fiancée was also injured, but she and their unborn child survived the shooting.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 22, the Pima Regional SWAT Team and PCSD Fugitive Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, executed a first-degree murder arrest warrant at a hotel in the 4800 block of South Palo Verde Road in Tucson.

There, they found 39-year-old Santiago Jorge Rogers, one of three suspects wanted for Ramirez's murder, authorities said.

Rogers was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

Arizona Department of Corrections info shows that he was found guilty of disorderly conduct and drug-related charges in the past.

The third suspect in the case has been located by the Pima County Sheriff's Office. However, the person was not arrested.
