Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division are in pursuit of motorist wanted for alleged assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer Wednesday night.
It's unclear exactly what time the pursuit was initiated, but the suspect was leading officers in chase on the 101 Freeway after being on surface streets in North Hollywood just before 9 p.m.
Preliminary, though unconfirmed, information suggests the driver, behind the wheel of a white Lexus sedan, may be tied to an Armenian gang, is possibly armed and dangerous and is wanted on multiple felony charges.
The chase came to a crawl on the 5 Freeway after it appeared that the vehicle's front passenger tire was damaged.
