President Volodymyr Zelensky has threatened to intensify Ukraine's drone strikes deep inside Russian territory.
"The task is: 1,000 drones a day for long-range attacks against Russia. We are currently carrying out an average of over 300 such long-range attacks - that figure must increase," Zelensky said in his evening video message broadcast from Kiev on Friday.
He emphasized that Ukraine must maximize the use of weapons to repel Russian attacks.
Kiev has driven up the cost of Moscow's war through attacks on oil refineries, logistics centres and military targets.
Although Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged the economic damage, he has also played it down as not being critical.
At the same time, he said, Ukraine must significantly ramp up the production of interceptor missiles specifically designed to counter Russian drones.
The Ukrainian president has repeatedly stated that Kiev's practical aim is to force Moscow to the negotiating table through military action.
"They already have less fuel, fewer exports and reduced logistical capacity," said Zelensky, referring to the results of the attacks in Russia that have been ongoing for weeks.
"There will be even more such losses for them if Russia is not prepared to negotiate sensibly to bring this war to an end," he added.
Ukraine has already paralysed the port of Novorossiysk, which is important to Russia's Black Sea Fleet. "We will certainly find ways to block their other ports as well," said Zelensky.
In response, Russia is attacking Ukraine's vital Black Sea ports in the Odessa region, where shipping traffic is now also virtually impossible. Moscow recently rejected Kiev's offer of a ceasefire in the naval conflict.
