EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville police say a deadly weekend shooting has been determined to be an act of self-defense.
Officers were called to the 1400 block of Delmar Avenue just before 11 a.m. Saturday after a 911 caller reported their brother had been shot.
Police found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The suspected shooter was initially detained at the scene while detectives investigated.
In an update, Evansville police said that based on statements from everyone involved and the evidence known at this time, investigators determined the shooting was self-defense.
Police say no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
