This year, Labor Day lands on Monday, Sept. 7. It's a federal holiday, meaning that not everything will be open.

Banks are not open on federal holidays, nor are some pharmacies.

Here's a rundown of the operating hours of some bank branches and pharmacies in Rhode Island on Labor Day.

A Walgreens media alert said that all Walgreens stores will be open during their regular operating hours on Labor Day, Sept. 7.

"Store and pharmacy hours may vary by location," a Walgreens media alert said. "Customers are encouraged to check the Walgreens Store Locator at Walgreens.com for the most up‑to‑date store and pharmacy hours."

A CVS spokesperson said that their locations will be open during their regular business hours on Labor Day, but that some locations may have reduced hours or different schedules.

"We recommend that customers call their local store before visiting or check hours at cvs.com," the spokesperson said.

A Stop & Shop spokesperson said that while their grocery stores would be on Labor Day, their pharmacies inside the grocery stores would not be.

The Bank of America website said that their offices and financial centers will be closed on Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2026.

"Please note that holidays may affect the time it takes to process certain transactions, and that updated transaction information may not display until the next business day after the holiday," Bank of America said.

The Citizens Bank & Trust website said that their branches would be closed on Labor Day.
