MUNCIE, IN — A young Fort Wayne woman is accused of firing several gunshots in a crowded residence near the Village business district.
Jachael Aaliyah Weaver, 20, was arrested on the morning of Sunday, Aug. 30, in the 300 block of North Martin Street on suspicion of intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm and criminal mischief. She continued to be held without bond Wednesday in the Delaware County Jail.
According to witnesses, Weaver fired six to 10 gunshots while in a residence with at least 13 other people.
Muncie police responded to a report of "shots fired" in the 1600 block of West University Avenue. Ball State police arrested Weaver in a traffic stop along North Main Street.
Officers reported finding a semi-automatic handgun in the car, under the driver's seat.

Witnesses reported Weaver pointed her handgun at others in the residence, apparently while demanding return of her cell phone.
Officers were provided with a video of the incident that reportedly showed Weaver holding the pink firearm later recovered from the car, "pointing it at several people and demanding to know where the cell phone was," according to an affidavit.
Investigators found a shell casing in the residence, two bullet holes in a ceiling and a door frame that had apparently been damaged by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
The Delaware County prosecutor's office will determine whether formal charges will be filed.
Court records reflect no prior charges against the Fort Wayne woman.
