A Port Orchard woman is suspected of driving under the influence after she reportedly rolled her vehicle near Long Lake County Park late Tuesday night.
In a statement released the following morning, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrived at the crash scene just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 1 after witnesses called 911 about an SUV resting on its top in a ditch on the 5500 block of Long Lake Road SE. Witnesses reported that the driver said she was uninjured, then got into a truck that arrived at the collision scene and left.
KCSO said they were able to locate the woman after running the license plate of the truck that picked her up and she allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol before she drove. The suspect told investigators that she recently received her driver's permit and wanted to go for a drive because she did not feel intoxicated.
According to KCSO, a breathalyzer test showed her blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit of 0.08, reportedly surpassing 0.12. She was booked into Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
