More than 20,000 Entergy customers remained without power Thursday as crews worked across Southeast Texas to restore electricity after Tropical Storm Edouard.

The storm knocked out power to about 80,000 Entergy customers across the region earlier this week. Entergy has restored electricity to more than 70% of those customers, but thousands remain without power as crews repair widespread damage.
Flooded and blocked roads, saturated ground and fallen trees have slowed restoration efforts in the hardest-hit communities.
Entergy announced that it had restored power to more than 70% of affected customers by Thursday morning, and the remaining outages were concentrated in Beaumont, Silsbee, Port Arthur and Orange.
Customers can use Entergy's outage map to find information on estimated restoration times.
"Although weather conditions have improved, the effects of Edouard continue to create challenges for restoration crews," read the Entergy statement. "Flooded and blocked roads, saturated ground, fallen trees and debris are limiting access to damaged equipment in several areas."
Rain is still expected on Thursday, with the heaviest rain expected to hit areas north and northwest of Houston. While these areas are still at risk of flooding, most Houston neighborhoods only face scattered rain chances from the afternoon sea breeze.
Entergy said it has over 2,000 crew members working "around the clock" until power is restored to all customers.
