A food website just named where to get the best breakfast sandwich in Massachusetts.
Chowhound made a list of the best breakfast sandwiches in each state, naming one particular sandwich at a Boston-based chain of sandwich shops called Mike & Patty's as the best breakfast sandwich in the state.
"Being huge fans of breakfast sandwiches in all forms, we set out to discover the best ones in every state — and we're not talking about fast food breakfast sandwiches," Chowhound said. "We wanted to know what homegrown versions people absolutely love."
Chowhound chose The Fancy at Mike & Patty's as the best breakfast sandwich in Massachusetts because of how it mixes different flavors and textures.
"Think a medium-fried egg, crispy bacon, melted cheddar cheese, creamy avocado, red onions, and house mayo on toasted multigrain bread," the food website said.

Mike Gurevich, the principal owner of Mike & Patty's, said that he sees the sandwiches at his sandwich shops as his own children, comparing The Fancy breakfast sandwich to a child that became incredibly successful and went off to Harvard.
"It's what we were known for from the beginning," Gurevich said about Chowhound's pick for best breakfast sandwich. "I think that's awesome."
Gurevich also mentioned that since Mike & Patty's opening in 2008, they've expanded to seven locations, with their most recent one being in Logan Airport. And that they have plans to open one in Charlestown.
