A strong line of severe storms is moving through Michigan's Lower Peninsula Friday morning, Sept. 4, producing rain and damaging winds while hundreds of thousands are already without power.
As of 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, thunderstorms were tracking northwest to southeast across Michigan's Lower Peninsula and expected to hold on until about 2 p.m. Large hail, 60 mph wind gusts, localized flash floods and tornadoes are all possible threats, the National Weather Service said.
Friday's storms, Sept. 4, are expected to drop torrential rain onto already flooded areas where 1-3 inches of rain have already accumulated from Wednesday and Thursday storms.
As of 8 a.m., Friday, 260,000 customers were without power in Michigan, down from figures reported Thursday night that at least 300,000 customers were without power.
