Officers responded to the 800 block of Jackson Street just before 11 p.m. Friday after a report of a person shot, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The shooting occurred in the Brooklyn neighborhood.

The suspect has not been identified, Sgt. J. Moore of JSO's Robbery and Violent Crime Unit said. The victim is currently being treated for his injuries.

Crime Scene detectives are processing the scene, where several shell casings were recovered, Moore said.

Detectives with the Robbery and Violent Crime Unit are interviewing witnesses, canvassing for surveillance video and following up on leads.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and do not consider it domestic-related, though it remains unclear whether the victim and suspect know each other, according to Moore.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
