In-person help is still available for New Jersey residents seeking assistance for the upcoming Property Tax Relief programs — NJ ANCHOR or Senior Freeze before the Nov. 2 deadline.

The New Jersey Department of Treasury has launched free property tax relief filing events throughout the state for eligible residents through October.

By now most residents received their Benefit Confirmation letters detailing their filing status and will either have their application auto filed or it will need to be file on their own.

ANCHOR, the (Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters) program is a state initiative designed to provide property tax relief to eligible New Jersey residents who own or rent property in the state.

The Senior Freeze program reimburses eligible senior citizens and disabled persons for property tax or mobile home park site fee increases on their principal residence (main home).

Eligible New Jersey residents filing for the PSA-1 are required to bring, all 2024 and 2025 income documentation that includes (NJ-1040(s), 1099-R(s), and 1099-SSA(s), total billed 2024 and 2025 property taxes, and photo ID.

Homeowners and renters under 65 and not collecting Social Security disability benefits, a government photo ID is required.

EATONTOWN: Sept. 9, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at Eatontown Community Center 72 Broad Street in Eatontown

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: Sept. 9, 2026, 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. located Ocean Township Gymnasium, 1100 West Park Avenue in Ocean Township

ASBURY PARK: Oct. 3, 2026 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at Dr. Robinson Towers 1000 3rd Avenue in Asbury Park

SOUTH TOMS RIVER: Oct. 10, 2026 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at South Toms River Recreation Building 1 Drake Lane in South Toms River

BELMAR: Oct. 14, 2026 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at Borough of Belmar Taylor Pavilion 500 Ocean Avenue N. in Belmar

LAKEWOOD: Oct. 14, 2026 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. located at The Square; 313 3rd Street in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD: Oct. 25, 2026 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. located at 36 Shefa Chaim Avenue in Lakewood

The deadline to apply is Nov. 2, 2026. However, the state will auto-file for most eligible residents. Applicants can check the status of their benefits by visiting the Department of the Treasury's website.
