Two people are dead, and a juvenile was injured after a shooting Monday night at an apartment complex in LaGrange.

LaGrange police told Channel 2's Darryn Moore that officers received a 911 call shortly before 9 p.m. from someone who reported hearing multiple gunshots at the Brittany Place Apartments along Hogansville Road.

"The 911 caller stepped out of the apartment and said that one of the subjects was acting erratically inside the apartment and then the gunfire started," LaGrange Police Chief Garrett Fiveash said.

When officers arrived, they found Drevion Brewer dead outside one of the apartment buildings. Investigators later determined the shooting occurred inside Apartment 922.

Inside the apartment, officers found Amarious Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Williams was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police also found a juvenile inside the apartment with a gunshot wound to the leg.

One witness, Clay Pierce, said someone began knocking on his door asking for help after the shooting.

"I walked outside and was like, 'What the hell is going on? Why are you banging on my door?' And somebody said, 'Can you come help my Padre? He's been shot,'" Pierce told Moore.

Pierce said he provided aid to the wounded juvenile until first responders arrived.

"He's got a gunshot wound to the leg. I saw the blood, and I rendered aid until they got there, and I called 911," Pierce said.

Pierce said violence has been an ongoing problem at the apartment complex.

"There's been a lot more shootings," Pierce said. "They need to do something about all of this, all the gang activity and all of the drugs."

Police identified Joshua Preston as a suspect in the shooting.

He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Investigators said additional charges are likely.
