Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville suggested that Donald Trump's increasingly erratic actions can mean only one thing.
"The only answer that I can come up that explains the current behavior of Donald Trump is simply this: He wants the Republicans to lose," Carville said on the latest episode of his "Politics War Room" podcast. "He hates 'em. He wants to torture them. He thinks that he saved them. He taught them how to win. They turned his back on him, and he's going to teach them a lesson."

Carville acknowledged that "it sounds insane, that you have a president who wants his political party to lose big, but I can't think of another explanation that really answers as many questions as this one does."
Carville also predicted that the GOP midterm convention in Dallas on Wednesday and Thursday, where Trump is slated to speak on both days, will be an absolute disaster for the party. However, he urged people to tune in.
"It's so insane, I think you owe it to yourself as a citizen to watch this," he said.
Carville has previously predicted that the GOP will be drubbed in the midterms and that Trump, facing intense scrutiny from Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, will simply leave the White House by Easter 2027.
