Redford Township police are investigating a fatal shooting they believe was targeted.

Officers received a report of shots heard in the area of Glendale and Woodbine, the department said in a social media post Saturday. The time the report was received was not immediately available.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds, police said. Officers gave the man medical aid until the fire department arrived. The man was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

"We believe this was targeted and the incident was not random," a Facebook post said.
