At least two people have been killed and three injured in Russian drone attacks in Kherson near the Black Sea, the regional military administration announced on Wednesday.

Kherson lies on the lower reaches of the Dnieper River, which separates Russian and Ukrainian troops in southern Ukraine.

Elsewhere, official reports say six people were injured in a Russian drone attack in the Kharkiv region of eastern Ukraine. A statement by the Izium military administration on Telegram said that a train travelling between Kharkiv and Izium was attacked by a drone near the railway station in the village of Iskra.

The drone strike on the rear of the train is said to have sparked a fire. Just the day before, Russia had attacked two passenger trains in other parts of Ukraine.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for over four and a half years.
