After the epic $1.04 billion win Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, with a winner from the Land of Lincoln, the Powerball reset to $20 million on Aug. 15. With 11 rollovers since, including the Powerball drawing from Monday, Sept. 7, or Labor Day, the jackpot has climbed from $190 million to $207 million for Wednesday, Sept. 9. The Powerball jackpot has a cash option, too, increasing from $81.9 million to $89.3 million. Check back after 11 p.m. ET for Wednesday's winning lottery numbers. We'll see if there's a winner just after the federal holiday.

In case you're wondering, the Monday, Labor Day winning Powerball numbers were 15-19-28-39-56 and the Powerball was 3. Power Play was 3x. There were no second-tier winners in that draw.

Powerball drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, including holidays. According to Powerball.com, players have a 1 in 292.2 million chance to match all six numbers whether the jackpot is $20 million or $2 billion. Prizes range from $2 to the grand prize jackpot, which varies.

The next Powerball drawing will be on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Soon after the 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, Powerball drawing for $1 billion, lottery officials noted online that a winner in Illinois matched all the numbers. On Thursday, Aug. 13, the Illinois Lottery revealed the winning ticket was purchased at a Hy-Vee store in Quincy, Illinois, and that final ticket sales had pushed the total to a whopping $1.04 billion.

The Wednesday, Aug. 12, $1.04 billion Powerball prize remains unclaimed, according to a check on Powerball and Illinois Lottery online. Though someone in Illinois nabbed the golden ticket, several other states had second-tier prizes in that big Powerball jackpot drawing. A Florida ticket was one of four, joining those bought in Arizona, California and North Carolina, that matched 5 for $1 million prizes. A bigger win went to a Massachusetts ticket which matched 5 plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize.

The $1 million Florida winner in the Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, Powerball drawing for $1.04 billion bought their ticket from Racetrac, 2335 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, Florida. The ticketholder claimed the cash option for their quick pick ticket days later, Florida Lottery records show, and lives in Cape Coral, Florida.
