TEXARKANA, Ark. – Texarkana police officials said a murder warrant has been secured after a motorcyclist was killed by a man allegedly fleeing police.
Officials said a first-degree murder warrant was sworn out Wednesday against 24-year-old Rkeavius Morrison following an investigation by Arkansas State Police. Morrison had a previous warrant issued against him for fleeing, resulting in serious injury or death, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury or death.

Morrison is not in custody, officials said.
According to court records, on Sept. 2 at 9:28 p.m., an officer pulled up behind a car he thought was broken down and walked toward the driver's window. As he approached, he reported that the car accelerated away.
As the car sped away, it hit a motorcycle rider near the intersection of State Line and Realtor Avenue, ejecting the rider and knocking the motorcycle 475 feet and dismembering the rider. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner, despite the efforts of first responders.
The car police had been chasing was found on fire, having jumped a curb into a grassy field. The driver had fled on foot, the report stated. An investigation found the vehicle's tags were not issued to that car. Further investigation gave police the name of the woman the car's tags were registered to.

Police spoke with the woman, according to the report, who told them her boyfriend, Rkeavius Morrison, had the car. Social media photos were used to confirm Morrison's identity, police reported. The officer who first walked up to the car Morrison was driving confirmed it was him behind the wheel after seeing the photos, according to the report.
Footage of the car hitting the motorcycle led to the first-degree murder warrant, officials said.
Authorities are asking for the public's help locating Morrison and are seeking any information about his whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 903-798-3154, officials said.

Police advised the public not to attempt to apprehend Morrison. Anyone needing immediate law enforcement assistance should call 911, officials said.
