The WolfStorm is an electric motorcycle built for utility and durability over speed. Ukraine's Ministry of Defense officially codified and approved it for military service in June 2026, noting that motorcycles have become some of the most valuable vehicles in operational use, second only to pickup trucks. The bike is designed to carry two riders plus equipment across damaged roads and off-road terrain quickly. It handles reconnaissance, logistics, evacuation, and security patrol roles.
The WolfStorm runs an 8 kW mid-drive electric motor mounted at the center of the frame. Centering the motor keeps weight balanced and improves handling on uneven ground. The motor drives the rear wheel through a chain, not a belt. Chain drive is louder but far more repairable in the field with basic tools. Power comes from a 72V / 60Ah lithium-ion battery with a range of around 100 km (62 miles). Full charge takes four hours from an 84V / 15A source. The battery system is modular, meaning packs can be swapped quickly without tools when a charge point is not available. Curb weight is 105 kg (231 lb). Maximum payload is 200 kg (440 lb), enough for two adults and gear. Top speed is 80 km/h (50 mph). The bike also has reverse gear for tight maneuvering. Rolling hardware consists of deeply lugged off-road tires on spoked wheels, 21 inches up front and 18 inches in the rear. A long-travel fork handles the rough stuff up front.
For military use, the appeal is near-silent operation, no significant heat signature, instant torque at low speed, and reduced maintenance compared to a gas engine. Those same attributes matter to off-road riders who want to cover technical terrain quietly and without carrying fuel. Electric mid-drive setups also deliver torque directly where the bike needs it, which improves traction control on loose or rocky surfaces compared to rear-hub motors.
The WolfStorm is not available in US dealerships. It is a military procurement vehicle made for Ukrainian armed forces. But its codification by a national military signals that electric off-road motorcycles have crossed a practical threshold, not just for commuters but for demanding real-world use in difficult conditions.
