A third suspect tied to an August shooting at the Motel 6 off I-5 in Glenwood was arrested Sept. 10 by Eugene police at an apartment in the 300 block of Second Street in Creswell.
Officers responded to the shooting at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 13 after a woman reported to the hotel's front desk that her boyfriend had been shot inside a hotel room, according to Eugene Police Department spokesperson Chelsea Deffenbacher.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery for treatment of his injuries. Deffenbacher said he remained in critical condition but was expected to survive.
The following day, EPD announced officers arrested Lindsey Marie Kruesi, 43. She was later charged and indicted by a grand jury in Lane County Circuit Court with two counts of first-degree robbery with a firearm, one count of first-degree assault with a firearm and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
Kruesi has a lengthy criminal record of assault, drug possession, drug dealing, felon in possession of a weapon, reckless driving and endangerment, burglary and robbery convictions in Lane County dating back to 2001.
On Aug. 15, a second suspect in the shooting, Douglas Gene Baker, 44, was arrested and later charged in Lane County Circuit Court with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm.
Deffenbacher said the Eugene Police Street Crimes unit served a search warrant at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at the Creswell apartment along with a Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, Crisis Negotiation team, explosive disposal team and drone teams as part of an investigation into narcotics and firearms-related crimes.
The apartment belongs to Michael Wayne Wesley, 45, who was not involved in the Motel 6 shooting. A woman, Alexandra Mae Dahneke-Krusei, 26, was also known to be in the apartment.
Dahneke-Krusei was identified as the third suspect involved in the Motel 6 robbery and shooting. She and Wesley were taken into custody by SWAT and brought to the Lane County Jail.
Wesley is a convicted felon with an extensive criminal history, including a first-degree manslaughter conviction for his participation in a fatal drive-by shooting in 2008. He is barred from possessing firearms. He was indicted in April on three counts of felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree theft, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and felony unlawful possession of methamphetamine. In October 2025, he was indicted for similar charges. Both cases are still pending in Lane County Circuit Court.
Investigators searched the apartment and located two handguns, body armor, ammunition and methamphetamine.
