DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) is inviting the community to the 25th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

"The 25th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony will feature speakers from Dorchester County public safety agencies, along with Master Deputy Cruz, a former NYPD officer who was on duty in New York City on the day of the attacks," the DCSO said.

The ceremony will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at Ashley River Park located at 200 Renken Road in Summerville.

"We invite our community to join us as we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who responded, and reflect on the sacrifice and service that followed," DCSO said.
